    Product Description

Luxator 3mm Curved is a periotome instrument in the Luxator line, used to sever the periodontal ligament (PDL) before a tooth is elevated or removed with forceps, rather than relying on the prying leverage of a standard elevator. The 3mm blade width makes this a curved counterpart to the straight 3mm blade, reached for when a straight blade will not seat cleanly against the root surface. The curved profile follows the natural contour of wider or rounder roots, giving better access on posterior teeth and distal or lingual surfaces than a straight blade allows, working the blade around the socket circumference with light rocking and rotational pressure to cut PDL fibers along the root surface. Because the blade separates the ligament first, less force is needed at the elevation or forceps stage that follows, which helps protect the buccal plate and the surrounding alveolar bone from the fracture risk that comes with prying against an intact ligament. This instrument is typically used as one step in a staged sequence with other Luxator widths and shapes, rather than as a stand-alone tool for the entire extraction, since no single blade width or angle reaches every surface of every socket. Oral surgeons, periodontists, and general dentists performing their own extractions add this pattern to the tray specifically for atraumatic technique, where bone and soft tissue preservation is a priority ahead of implant placement or simply as good extraction practice. Manufactured from surgical-grade stainless steel, corrosion resistant, fully autoclavable.
